About Lisa
Having grown up in Highland Park, IL, I lived across from Lake Michigan. My childhood was filled with nature. We played on the beaches and in the ravines. Today, I am blessed to live in Boca Raton, FL surrounded by gorgeous trees, flowers, plants, birds and animals. My art is a tribute to what my eyes behold. My Muse is a fabulous Spoonbill Roseate, very rare to this area. Of course I have named her Pinkie. She thrives eating shrimp, shellfish or amphibians. For me she symbolizes Beauty, Creativity, Solitude, and Strength despite here uniqueness. Her vibrancy reminds me of my Red Hair, standing out in a crowd. My artistic journey began at home. My mother, grandmother and aunties were all visual artists. My formal training took place at The Art Institute of Chicago under the guidance of Bonnie Hartenstein, MFA. I also immersed myself in workshops at the Hartenstein home in Sedona, AZ nestled within the Red Mountains further expanding my artistic prowess. I studied at the Boca Raton Museum of Art with Miles Laventhal, MA. My exploration of collage, sculpture, painting and textiles have added layers of depth to my creative expression. As you the viewer can see, my love for art is seen in the vessel of my work. My pieces invite you to celebrate life, embrace positivity and share in my love for the creation, as well as the creative process. My hope is that this tapestry of art creates a conscious connection reminding us that love binds us together.
